Buh Bye

So as of today - Nov. 30 -  my Facebook account is gone for good. (Oh I hit delete on Oct 15 but Facebook does not delete accounts for 30 days - just in case you sign back in. And then I accidently signed in on 10/30 so the clock started all over again. But I digress...)

It now seems silly of me to have waited this long but I don't need any more evidence to fuel my outrage over the evil that Facebook enables. Then I read that after years of handwringing, Facebook will no longer tolerate Holocaust deniers on its platform. And I flipped the switch so to speak.

We used to call things like Facebook discussion boards back in the day. In 2000, I had to battle a few young, idealistic web producers who felt I had no right to ban Holocaust deniers from the History Channel's website boards. That was 20 fucking years ago and Zuckerberg has just figured it out? What in gawd's name and all that is holy took you so long, Facebook?

Give me a fucking break - they've stopped it because it must now be hurting a bottom line somewhere or some data analyst looked at the ROI  and realized tolerating it was not good for his empire. Nothing to do with the fact that people have every right to their own opinion, they simply don't have a right to make up facts.

And by the way, I almost forgot about this from the VP debate. Fuck you Pence. How dare you invoke Daniel Patrick Moynihan's signature line. You sir, are no Daniel Patrick Moynihan.
